Aswan University President Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed decided to suspend work in university hospital reception because of a new detected case of “Coronavirus” and that by coordination with Aswan Health Directorate and transferring patients to Health Insurance Hospital.
All affected status areas have been sterilized, and those in contact with her have been identified by medical staff, with necessary examinations and isolation until getting analyzes results.
Prof/ Ghallab added that the university received a case yesterday of an elderly woman called “S.A.M.” resident in Aswan, who suffers from a diabetic coma and pneumonia and hospitalized as the analysis result was positive and she transferred to Al-Sadaka Isolation hospital and then she died, So that the preventive and precautionary measures were taken and disinfection and sterilization of the place was carried out.
The Medical Staff who was dealing with the case was isolated to sterile places until the end of the incubation period and getting the results of their medical analyzes. The reception and intensive care department ware temporarily closed for 24 hours until these preventive measures were completed, with transferring any new cases to insurance hospital, and this was done in coordination With Major General / Ashraf Attia -Aswan Governor, and Dr/ Ehab Hanafy – Undersecretary of Ministry of Health in Aswan.
Prof. Ahmed Ghallab declared that all precautionary measures were taken for those in contact with the corona virus infected case, were transferred to sterile private places until the end of the incubation period and the analyzes results appearance and that for their safety and to prevent infection and This is part of the precautionary and preventive measures which have taken by University administration and university hospital in Aswan.
Dr. Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshoury – Faculty of Medicine Dean_ added that the case “S.A.M.” was 64 years old, she died after infecting with coronavirus after sample collection at Aswan University Hospital and the analysis result was positive and she was isolated at Al-Sadaka hospital until her last breath inside the isolation hospital.
