Aswan Governor Major General. Ashraf Attia _ Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab laid the foundation stone for establishing the new reception and emergency hospital over an area of 1400 square meters.
Prof. Ghallab emphasized the development of university hospitals to increase absorptive capacity to serve patients of Aswan and Upper Egypt governorates in light of state’s concern for citizen health and presenting outstanding medical service through university hospitals.
Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that the building of the reception and emergency hospital consists of a basement, ground floor and 4 upper floors on a total area of 8400 meters, and that for increasing clinical capacity of Aswan university hospital which has about 450 beds and by completing the reception and emergency hospital building, it will be a new addition to the medical system in Aswan university hospital that includes 150 beds and in addition to the new internal medicine hospital with capacity of 300 beds which will be completed through months and that give a great opportunity to accommodate many patients in different specializations.
Maj Gen. Ashraf attia _Aswan Governor_ stated that there is a concern to the medical system from the political leadership in light of confronting corona virus and we are working on developing the health system in Aswan.
Aswan governor praised the development in university hospitals in Aswan which will achieve patients’ requirements and aspirations in the near future.
Dr. Mohamed Zakaria Abdel-Hamid_ engineering consultant of Aswan University_ referred that the building of reception hospital consists of many departments:
(Reception – Emergency– intensive care-radiology and accommodation –analysis laboratories – sterilization unit – laundry- garage- central restaurant)
Hanging contact bridges to facilitate transporting patients, injuries, emergencies and accidents cases and facilitating movement of patients and doctors.
The foundation stone of the new reception and emergency hospital was laid in attendance of Maj Gen. Ashraf Attia _Aswan Governor, Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_Aswan University, Dr. Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshouri _Faculty of medicine dean, Dr. Mostafa El-Tairy _vice dean of faculty of medicine, Dr. Ashraf mebed _manager of university hospital and Mr. Hussein Abdel-latif _University Secretary General.
