Within the framework of fruitful cooperation between Aswan University, the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, and the Egyptian Knowledge Bank
the University is organizing a workshop entitled “EU Funding and its Support for Scientific Research and Innovation”, to be held on Monday, November 10, 2025.
Venue: Seminar Hall – Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Aswan University
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Target Audience: Academic staff, researchers, and postgraduate students interested in applying for EU grants.

The workshop aims to support and build the capacities of researchers and Academic staff at the university, enabling them to effectively engage with European funding programs—particularly Horizon Europe, one of the European Union’s flagship programs for supporting research and innovation.
The workshop will be delivered by Dr. Ikram (Salma) El-Saawy, Deputy Director of the Research and Innovation Management Department at the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology.
She is an international expert in European project management and funding strategies, with more than 14 years of experience in the field.
The workshop will cover several topics, including:
Introduction to the Horizon Europe program and its importance for Egyptian researchers.
Overview of the EU funding structure, its main pillars, and research areas.
How to effectively use the Funding & Tenders Portal.
How to identify suitable research opportunities for Aswan University researchers.
